Nigerian culinary sensation, Hilda Effiong Bassey, widely known as Hilda Baci, has not only met but surpassed her initial 96-hour target, setting a remarkable new record of 100 consecutive hours of cooking.
The cook-a-thon competition, held at the scenic Amore Gardens in Lekki, has been abuzz with excitement as supporters share videos, cheering on the young chef and celebrating her incredible achievement.
Originally expected to conclude at 4 pm today, Hilda's cooking marathon has now exceeded the current Guinness World Record for the "longest cooking marathon by an individual."
Taking on the challenge last Thursday, the talented chef from Lagos ignited her cooker at 4 pm and eclipsed the existing world record holder on Monday morning.
Once officially certified after completing the 100th hour, Hilda Baci will surpass Lata Tondon, the current title holder—an Indian chef who accomplished the remarkable feat in 2019, cooking uninterrupted for 87 hours and 45 minutes.
Hilda's extraordinary accomplishment is a testament to her dedication, skill, and passion for the culinary arts. Her name is poised to enter the annals of culinary history, representing a new pinnacle in the world of cooking marathons.
